This program provides in-person instruction only.
The chemical dependency counselor program is designed to provide students with the theoretical, practical and clinical skills required for entry-level employment in the field of alcohol and drug counseling. The course work covers alcoholism and drug abuse issues, comprehension of the treatment process, physiological effects of alcohol and drugs on individuals, and vital communication techniques used in the counseling process and treatment plan process. Graduates are eligible to become certified as alcohol and drug counselors.
