This program provides in-person instruction only.
Classroom, video, and hands-on instruction to calibrate, design, install, trouble shoot automatic process control instrument systems. Green examples are steam co-gens, land fill vacuum extraction co-gens, thermal co-gens, solar co-gens, etc. New automatic instrument control systems upgraded air quality and fuel efficiency for boiler, furnace, and burners. Process instrument control technicians in the last 50 years, have reduced the usage of water, fuel, and energy required to refine raw materials, instrument and electrical maintenance - dual craft, instrument technician, electrician, instrument control technician, instrument wire terminator, technical sales, and maintenance program is designed to teach students the basics of instrumentation and automatic controls. Many graduates go to work as instrument technicians, but many others enter fields for which CIT training, combined with their previous experience, qualifies them to obtain better jobs. The first step in all instrumentation, whether you are certifying or troubleshooting, is to attempt to calibrate. If it calibrates then you can certify if not, then you must replace it, switch out a component, send it back to the factory for exchange, or sell a new instrument or new control system. Before you can start up the instrument or system, it must be re-calibrated and certified. Simple, easy instructions are given on how to calibrate and certify instruments that measure and control flow, level, speed, altitude, temperature, pressure, differential pressure, PH, conductivity, and chemical analysis. Technicians, engineers, salesmen and managers are taught to troubleshoot systems, change out components, make critical adjustments, tune control loops to assure high product quality, and prevent damage to expensive systems. The courses are designed to prepare students to start as entry level helpers - electricians. Students benefit from learning the additional, high tech skills needed, along with their existing skills.
