Program details
This is a hybrid or blended program providing both in-person and online instruction.
The Paraprofessional Education program provides training to become an assistant to certificated teachers or certificated personnel with aide in a variety of instructional tasks and related clerical duties. Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge to assist in a variety of instructional settings, individual activities and a variety of assistant teacher duties. Students will focus on general office skills designed to enhance Microsoft Office and become proficient in MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Students will learn Legal, Ethical, and Environmental Considerations in the work field. The curriculum for this course includes very important 21st century skills, such as effective communication, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration that have been identified as foundational to success in school and at work. The curriculum within this course is designed to provide you with the foundational knowledge and basic skills to prepare you for real-world skills that are needed for success in college and careers within todays Education-centered job market.
