Our certificate is approved by the California Consortium ofAddiction Programs and Professionals Education Institute (CCAPP-EI) and meets the educational requirements forcertification through the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP).Application requirements:1. Students will need to complete the Information Session and New Student Orientation: Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling Certificate. Students will also sign and submit a Statement of Understanding Form. The Statement of Understanding Form includes the following statement: Sobriety is essential to performing as a professional in the field of addiction counselingstudents enrolling in this certificate who are in recovery are expected to have at least one year of continuous sobriety prior to enrollment in the program and maintain sobriety throughout the program.2. Enroll and complete the Study Skills and Other Key Preparations for the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling Certificate prerequisite. Students may waive this course requirement if they have successfully completed an associate, baccalaureate, or higher degree. To waive the prerequisite, students will need to send an official, sealed transcript from the institution where they earned their degree to the following mailing address: UCLA Extension, Department of Humanities and Sciences10960 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 1600Los Angeles, CA 900243.
